Following the keynote, attendees, including past committee members, gathered to cut the ribbon, officially opening the exhibition space. The exhibition hall, featuring 92 exhibitors, provided an interactive environment for industry players to engage, showcase innovative products, and discuss emerging trends.

Friday (25th) opened with a second keynote presentation by Amber Kendrick of Pete’s Auto Parts, who shared her personal and professional journey of balancing contentment with the risk of complacency. Kendrick’s insights underscored the importance of gratitude, habitual self-reflection, and continuous improvement. Her candid reflections on the need for curiosity and adaptability resonated with attendees, highlighting the importance of sustained motivation and self-assessment in an ever-evolving industry.

Following Kendrick’s address, the convention offered a diverse array of sessions with 12 presentations covering topics like carbon credits, emerging technologies, and global best practices. Industry leaders and experts led these sessions, sparking lively discussions and offering practical insights for attendees to apply to their businesses.

The Friday evening gala, themed “Cowboy Casino Royale,” celebrated industry achievements. Outgoing President Nick Daurio hosted the evening, presenting several prestigious awards. The Lifetime Achievement Awards honored Fran Reitman and Steve Fletcher for their lasting contributions, while the President’s Award went to Mike Lambert. Bow Auto Parts was recognized with the CAR Award, and Marty Hollingshead received the 2024 Member of the Year Award. A particularly poignant moment came as longtime Executive Director Sandy Blalock bid farewell, reflecting on her 6-year tenure with the association. Daurio then passed the gavel to incoming president Eric Wilbert, signaling a new chapter for ARA leadership. The formalities concluded with a lively 1980s-themed celebration, offering attendees a chance to unwind and connect.

On Saturday morning, attendees gathered for a final breakfast and last visits with exhibitors before diving into additional presentations designed to fuel thought and stimulate debate on the industry’s future. The convention wrapped up with a farewell toast in the evening to once more celebrate Sandy Blalock’s time at the ARA and also have a final chance to say goodbye to old and new friends with promises of meeting up at the 82nd convention in Birmingham, Alabama on 15 – 18 October 2025.
