Autocirc acquires STS Group, one of Europe’s leading groups in products for refurbishing gearboxes. STS Group today consists of several subsidiaries, such as STS AB (Scandinavian Transmission Service AB), LBM Autoparts AB and Vaihteistokeskus Oy in Finland.
The subsidiary STS AB, based in Stenungsund, Sweden, was founded as one of Europe’s first reman companies back in 1969. STS AB mainly works with industrial refurbishment of transmission-related vehicle parts as an OES supplier to the automotive industry with customers such as Volvo Cars, SCANIA, MAN, Ford and more.
LBM Autoparts AB. also with headquarters and logistics center in Stenungsund, Sweden, has a sales office in Germany and the subsidiary Vaihteistokeskus Oy in Finland. The business today is focused on providing the free aftermarket with various repair solutions that are both cost-effective and good for the environment. The range consists of spare parts for refurbishing gearboxes and other complex powertrain products, such as 4WD systems as well as refurbished units ready for installation.
The acquisition is a strategic investment that creates a platform for the renovation of powertrains within the Autocirc group.
The group has amassed one of Europe’s largest warehouses for spare parts for gearboxes and a unique test environment for diagnostics and warranty examinations. The companies’ operations also include frame handling and component logistics and have extensive experience in renovation. The group today has a turnover of approximately SEK 85 million and has 42 employees.
Johan Livered, CEO of Autocirc Group, said:
“Developments in the automotive industry mean more integrated and complex control systems, of which automatic gearboxes are a part. Through the acquisitions of STS AB and LBM Autoparts AB with subsidiaries, we are creating a strategic platform for refurbishing powertrains and an even more comprehensive offering within the Autocirc group.”
Ola Stålebo, CEO STS, said:
“The purpose of our work is partly the cost benefits we can offer our customers, partly the environmental benefits of reusing existing vehicle parts and materials. By becoming part of a larger context within Autocirc, this has an even better impact. We also look forward to contributing to continued expansion outside of Sweden to further strengthen the offer in transmission-related vehicle parts.”
The deal is part of Autocirc’s long-term strategy to acquire businesses to offer a more sustainable alternative within the European automotive aftermarket.
