The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) announced today that a relief fund has been established for professional automotive recyclers impacted by the COVID-19 virus.
In large part, this came about after ARA Associate Member company, Car-Part.com, announced that the company will pledge up to $30,000 to the fund.
Automotive Recyclers Association Executive Director, Sandy Blalock said,
“Everyone is being impacted by the Coronavirus,” He added: “Professional automotive recyclers are no different. Our industry represents thousands of businesses in all shapes and sizes and thousands of employees. Many of our members are also family-owned businesses, often second or third generation. We are fortunate in that automotive recycling businesses are recognized as essential businesses and can continue to remain open to provide safe, quality recycled OEM parts to consumers. However, many of our members are struggling to cope with the impact of this global pandemic.”
“We have offered to donate up to $30,000 to an ARA COVID-19 relief fund (representing a $10,000 initial contribution and up to an additional $20,000 to match contributions from others),” Vice President Roger Schroder and Founding CEO Jeff Schroder said in a release to Car-Part.com users.
The ARA COVID-19 Relief Fund will be available for ARA direct members. More information will be available shortly.
