Increased parts stock, new partnerships with specialised workshops, and technical training for the team are among the company’s main measures to adapt its business to electrification.
B-Parts is scaling its offering for EV and hybrid repairs by adding high-voltage components to its used-parts catalogue, led by a new inverters/converters range with 3,000+ units in stock. To meet rising aftermarket demand, it is building specialist dismantling and workshop partnerships, training staff, and reinforcing safe handling and recycling of electrified parts.
B-Parts, a leading European platform for the online sale of used, original, and certified car parts, is strengthening its focus on the electric vehicle segment by gradually incorporating parts for electric and hybrid vehicles (EVs and HEVs) into its catalogue, in response to growing demand for these products in the automotive aftermarket.
“B-Parts’ core business is offering used, original, and certified car parts, where we are market leaders in Europe. For electric vehicles, sales are still not significant, as automotive electrification is a very recent development. However, we anticipate rapid growth in this area, and demand for parts for these vehicles will continue to increase. That is why we want to give this business a new dimension, so that our customers can find the part they need on our platform. We recondition and sell parts for any type of vehicle,” emphasises Manuel Araújo Monteiro, Managing Director of B-Parts.
In May last year, the company added a category for inverters and converters, critical components in electrified vehicles responsible for converting direct current to alternating current. In this product line alone, the company currently has over 3,000 parts in stock. With parts available for the four main types of electrified vehicles, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs), Electric Vehicles (EVs), Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles (MHEVs), and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), B-Parts offers the widest selection for the first two categories.
Although generally priced higher than used parts for traditional vehicles, components for electric vehicles significantly reduce maintenance and repair costs, making these solutions attractive both for workshops and end consumers.
Additionally, B-Parts is implementing further measures to adapt its business to electrification. These include creating new partnerships with dismantling and scrap centres with proven expertise in electrified vehicles, enhancing the technical skills of its internal team, and promoting safe and proper recycling for all components.
“Automotive electrification is beginning to impact the aftermarket, requiring high levels of specialisation, increased stock, and technical knowledge. At B-Parts, we are anticipating market changes and preparing for a new generation of customers and workshops seeking to give used car parts a second life,” adds Luís Vieira, also a company director.
With an inventory of around 15 million parts in stock and a presence in over 160 countries, B-Parts continues to adapt its operations to industry trends, promote the circular economy, and contribute to more sustainable mobility.
