Derichebourg Environment is boosting its car recycling efforts by teaming up with Recycler Mon Véhicule (Recycle My Vehicle), an eco-organization for end-of-life vehicles (ELVs).
This partnership allows the company to accept ELVs at its 146 centers across France.
This move aligns with the 2024 anti-waste law (Agec), which requires all ELV centers to work with approved organizations or manufacturer-led recycling systems.
Expanding Vehicle Recycling
With this agreement, Derichebourg’s centers can now receive ELVs from individuals and businesses, including dealerships, garages, and insurers.
Vanessa Montagne, General Manager of Recycler Mon Véhicule, said:
“The 146 Derichebourg group centers strengthen the network set up by Recycle Mon Véhicule to enable private owners to dispose of their end-of-life vehicles, particularly very old vehicles with low potential for reusing parts.”
Boosting Reused Parts
Derichebourg also aims to increase the production of reused car parts, helping meet regulatory targets of 10% reuse by 2026 and 16% by 2028. The company is also looking to collaborate with manufacturer-led recycling programs.
With this partnership, Derichebourg strengthens its role in the circular economy and plans to expand its recycling efforts through additional agreements in the future.
Abderaman El Aoufir, President of Derichebourg Environnement, said:
“In addition to this major partnership, discussions are currently underway with the individual systems implemented by certain car manufacturers, with whom we hope to see positive progress, to guarantee all French people a simple, effective and accessible recycling solution for their vehicles.”
