Emmanuel Katrakis, presently serving as the Secretary-General of EuRIC, is set to join the Belgian/French recycling firm Galloo in May. This announcement follows his decision to step down from his ten-year tenure at the European recycling industry’s umbrella organization, effective at the end of March.

Galloo remarks that Katrakis’s blend of regulatory expertise will bolster their ability to address political and legislative matters crucial to their ongoing growth.
Olivier François, Galloo’s Market Development and Environmental Affairs Officer, also the President of EuRIC, emphasises the significance of retaining Katrakis within the recycling sector, citing his talents as pivotal in navigating forthcoming regulatory challenges.
Rik Debaere, CEO of Galloo, underscores the alignment of Katrakis’s experience and knowledge with the company’s proactive and innovative vision for both itself and the industry.
Galloo, boasting a turnover of EUR 700 million, stands as one of Europe’s largest ferrous and non-ferrous recyclers. Operating through a vast network of branches across northern France (28), Belgium (15), and the Netherlands (2), the company processes over one million tonnes of material annually.
