Jendrek & Partner, in conjunction with the Federal Association of German Steel Recycling and Waste Management Companies (BDSV), is embarking on a mission to gather accurate data for the metal recycling industry.
The scarcity of skilled workers stands out as a major hurdle for companies engaged in the circular economy, and the metal recycling sector is no exception, grappling with challenges in sourcing suitable personnel. Unfortunately, there is a dearth of reliable information quantifying the extent of the workforce shortage within these companies.
Addressing this gap, Jendrek & Partner, a prominent personnel consulting firm, aims to shed light on the personnel landscape in collaboration with BDSV. Through an extensive nationwide survey, companies operating in the metal recycling industry now have the opportunity to share insights into their personnel situations, ensuring anonymity and adhering to stringent data protection regulations.
Ingo Jendrek, human resources consultant and owner of Jendrek & Partner emphasizes the broader scope of the survey, stating, “We seek to understand not just the areas under the most pressure but also unravel the mystery behind the varying success rates of recruiting among different companies in the metal recycling industry. What factors play a pivotal role in this process? Acquiring such universally applicable insights constitutes the primary objective of this survey.”
Jendrek & Partner, in collaboration with BDSV, intends to disseminate the survey results through trade publications, social platforms like LinkedIn, and partner websites.
Guido Lipinski, managing director of BDSV, underscores the collaborative and industry-wide nature of the initiative, stating, “The findings will be shared with the entire industry. We, therefore, urge all companies, irrespective of size and BDSV membership status, within the metal recycling sector to actively participate in this survey.” The strength of the acquired evidence will undoubtedly increase with a higher number of market participants taking part.
