Gizzi Démolition, a family-owned business founded in 1954 by Émile Gizzi, is accelerating its development with a significant €1M investment to upgrade facilities and expand its capabilities in electric and hybrid vehicle processing. Based in the Domitia industrial zone in Beaucaire, France, the company, now managed by the fourth generation—Cédric and Jérémy Gizzi—continues to adapt to evolving industry demands.
Initially established as a scrap and car salvage business, Gizzi Démolition has transformed into a leading player in vehicle recycling. The company reprocesses approximately 3,000 end-of-life vehicles annually, including damaged and abandoned units. Operations range from dismantling and decontamination to the resale of spare parts. “We ship around 4,000 orders annually across France and Europe,” explains Cédric Gizzi. On average, about 50 reusable parts per vehicle are recovered and made available for purchase through the company’s online platforms.

Gizzi Démolition is among the 400 officially approved End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) centers in France, operating under the Indra network, a key figure in automobile recycling. True to its commitment to sustainability, the company ensures that 95% of collected materials are recycled. Innovative partnerships, such as those with the Asics brand, which repurposes airbag fabric into sneakers, and La Virgule, a company transforming seat belts into fashion accessories, further highlight Gizzi’s circular economy initiatives.
The company has also positioned itself at the forefront of electric and hybrid vehicle recycling. Certified as an expert center for electric vehicles in February 2022, Gizzi Démolition was one of the first in France to achieve this status. To comply with stringent French regulations, the company invested in creating specialized infrastructure for battery recovery and processing, handling approximately 100 electric vehicles per year. With the market for electric and hybrid vehicles steadily increasing, this segment represents a promising growth area for the business.
To support these activities, Gizzi Démolition has undertaken a substantial site expansion. A new 300 m² facility has just been completed, allowing the cutting-edge EV processing center to relocate from its current 1,000 m² building. The vacated space will be transformed into a dedicated spare parts retail shop, slated to open within the next year. Concurrently, the company has upgraded its operational grounds with significant improvements, including 3,000 m² of tarmac surfacing, new cantilevers, and a 1,500 m² concrete slab for optimized material storage.
This €1M investment enhances Gizzi Démolition’s ability to manage growing volumes of thermal, electric, and hybrid vehicles while maintaining optimal storage and operational efficiency. The new facilities are expected to be officially inaugurated in the spring, marking a milestone for the company as it continues to evolve with industry trends.
Beyond its core recycling operations, Gizzi Démolition also trades in new and used metals, sells second-hand vehicles (both private and professional), and offers 24/7 breakdown assistance for vehicle and wreck removal. The company’s service footprint spans five departments: Gard, Hérault, Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales, and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
By combining innovation, infrastructure investment, and a sustainable business model, Gizzi Démolition is solidifying its leadership in vehicle recycling while adapting to the challenges and opportunities of an electrified automotive future.
