Global PRE: 15 Years of Working Together to Support Automotive Professionals

Global PRE marks 15 years of helping independent French ELV centres work collectively to make reused parts a practical, trusted choice for vehicle repair. With pooled stock, digital tools and growing professional support, the group is now expanding into new markets, including two-wheelers, as it prepares for its next stage of development.

In 2026, Global PRE celebrates its 15th anniversary. Born from independent End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) centres coming together to build something collectively rather than operate individually, the group has continued to develop in response to the practical needs of automotive professionals and to make reused parts an obvious choice in vehicle repair.

The industry will come together on 16 September 2026 for an anniversary event marking the start of an important new chapter in this collective story.

A Collective Built on the Determination to Make a Difference Together

In 2011, 89 independent, authorised ELV centres made a defining choice: to join forces to provide an alternative based on reused parts in an increasingly consolidated automotive aftermarket, while also responding to the obligations placed on automotive professionals.

Global PRE has retained the essential elements of this original DNA, an independent organisation owned and governed exclusively by its member centres, with no external industrial capital or interests.

Fifteen years later, this union of independent businesses remains the driving force behind the group: pooling resources, sharing a common language and enabling every centre, whatever its size, to have a collective influence in areas where it could not have acted alone.

Encouraging Professionals to Adopt Reused Parts Through Listening

Developing Global PRE is not simply about expanding an inventory or a platform. It is about convincing automotive professionals, day after day, that reused parts provide a reliable, economical and responsible alternative to new parts.

That acceptance is built through listening, understanding the constraints faced by a garage, the deadlines of a repairer, or the doubts of a professional who has not yet taken the step, and through practical support, including compatibility checks, telephone aftersales support, a minimum 12-month warranty, centralised invoicing, end-of-month payment and a digital parts-search certificate.

It is this close understanding of the day-to-day needs of automotive professionals that has enabled Global PRE, year after year, to turn initial adoption into routine practice.

This momentum has been reflected in a series of practical milestones that have shaped the development of the group since its creation.

Our Projects: Focusing on Two-Wheelers and Looking Ahead to 16 September

Following two years in which its activity has grown by more than 150%, Global PRE is continuing its development by expanding its customer base to include automotive networks, brands and parts distributors, while maintaining the same principle: encouraging new professionals to adopt reused parts through listening and support rather than relying solely on price.

The group is also opening a new chapter with the launch, alongside Quattroruote Professional, of a project dedicated to reused parts for two-wheelers, a market that remains relatively unstructured, despite almost 70,000 motorcycles reportedly reaching end of life every year in France, according to Ademe.

Global PRE is applying the same approach that has already proved successful in the automotive sector: bringing independent businesses together, pooling stock and developing a common, trusted reference system.

This development will reach an important milestone on 16 September 2026, when Global PRE will bring together the wider industry for an anniversary event that will open an important new chapter in its history.

Caroline Michalik, Managing Director of Global PRE, said:

Caroline Michalik,

“These fifteen years are, above all, the story of a collective of ELV centres that chose to build something together. Our work has always been based on listening: understanding the day-to-day needs of professionals so that reused parts become a reflex rather than simply an option. It is this collective strength that will drive our next projects, from two-wheelers to our anniversary event on 16 September.”

About GLOBAL PRE

Created in 2011 by 89 ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) centres at the initiative of Patrick Poincelet, then President of the recyclers branch of MOBILIANS, GLOBAL PRE was founded on a shared commitment: to establish a universal reference and inventory for reused parts, giving all automotive repair professionals, including insurance assessors, repairers, professional customers and private individuals, a genuine alternative to new parts.

The aim is to enable users to estimate repair costs, search for parts and place orders from a pooled national inventory.

This reused-parts inventory currently contains 1.1 million parts available for immediate supply.

All ELV centres belonging to GLOBAL PRE are QUALICERT certified and are located exclusively in France.

About Mapiecedoccase

Mapiecedoccase is the marketplace owned by the ELV centres that are members of GLOBAL PRE.

It promotes automotive repair using parts from the circular economy to both professionals and private customers.

Created by GLOBAL PRE in 2021 at the request of its automotive recycling partners, Mapiecedoccase was designed to adapt to new consumer purchasing channels.
