IARC 2021 – Still time to register

The International Automobile Recycling Congress (IARC) celebrates its 20th anniversary this year in Geneva next week, from 23rd to 25th June. Last days to register!

IARC 2021 - Still time to register p

IARC is the only international congress dedicated to the automotive recycling industry. It is led by a Committee of recycling experts all recognised in their field. The conference and its exhibition are the annual meeting place for all automotive recycling professionals worldwide. All the players in the economic value chain are represented.

Nearly 200 participants have already registered, some in person and some virtually. Both possibilities are still open so if you want to register, check out the programme and the other activities at icm.ch/en/iarc-2021

Speakers from Renault, the European Commission, and the many companies involved in automotive recycling are looking forward to meeting in a safe and friendly environment to discuss and debate all the issues that concern our industry today.

Why should you be there?

2021 is a critical year for the automotive recycling sector for three main reasons.

Firstly, the complete overhaul of the EU’s End-of-Life Vehicles Directive, which could have a significant impact on automotive suppliers and parts manufacturers, as well as on the entire vehicle dismantling and recycling industry, and its possible extension to other mobility sectors such as motorbikes, trucks and buses.

Secondly, the EU plans to ban the export of certain recycled materials as part of the EU’s Green Deal and circular economy legislation. This could also have a significant impact on the global recycling industry.

Thirdly, the accelerating adoption of electromobility will have an impact on the recycling industry, as pressure increases for the necessary investments in new dismantling and shredding techniques and for the training of the growing number of players who have to deal with these new technologies.

Travel to Switzerland is simple for all business travellers and those who are vaccinated, with no tests or quarantine needed.
