Bedford Recycling Inc. has been acquired by Metal Source LLC, a company based in Wabash, Indiana. Metal Source now possesses various processing capabilities, including an auto shredder, wire chopping line, and the ability to process both ferrous and nonferrous materials.
Metal Source LLC has recently expanded its operations through strategic acquisitions. In 2021, the company acquired Decatur Salvage, a metals recycling facility located at 7870 US 27 in Decatur, Indiana, spanning 12 acres. Additionally, they purchased Secondary Metals, which operated a 2-acre yard in Peru, Indiana. In 2022, Metal Source acquired Huntington Aluminum in Huntington, Indiana.
The newly acquired Bedford Recycling Inc., with locations in Bedford and Mitchell, Indiana, offers Metal Source an auto shredder, marking the company’s first such facility. Furthermore, Bedford Recycling possesses a wire chopping line and other capabilities for processing both ferrous and nonferrous materials. These additions make the Bedford and Mitchell facilities Metal Source’s eighth and ninth locations.
In addition to the scrap yards in Wabash, Peru, Decatur, Bedford, and Mitchell, Metal Source operates two plants in Wabash and one each in Huntington and Marion, Indiana. These plants are involved in the production of 356 sow and ingot, aluminum de-ox products, and 380 sow and ingot.
