As in January, February leaves large increases in both the category of Passenger Cars, which is up 36.04% compared to the same month in 2024, and in the Light Commercial category, which is up 16.10%. Again, the cause of these large increases is the arrival at the CATs of significant volumes of vehicles affected by the DANA (Isolated High Level Depression). If we were to eliminate the approximately 18,000 cars* from the DANA, the figures would be very similar to those of February 2024.

The entry into the CATs of the cars affected by the DANA causes the average age of the treated cars to fall. In February 2025, the average age was 19.30 years, which represents a drop of 10.88% compared to the same month in 2024 when a figure of 21.40 years was recorded. The average number of vehicles coming from the DANA was 14.06 years.

On the other hand, the number of heavy industrial vehicles whose deregistration has been processed in a CAT in February 2025 falls again, as it did in January, in relation to the same month of 2024, but not that of motorcycles and mopeds, which rise significantly. Specifically, in February 2025, 516 heavy industrial vehicles have been treated, which represents a drop of 19.25% compared to the 639 units treated in the same month of the previous year. In addition, as of the January bulletin, the figures for agricultural and industrial machinery whose deregistration has been processed in a CAT have begun to be recorded, and which, in February 2025, have been 679 units, which, added to the number of heavy industrial vehicles, represent a total of 1,195 units treated. Motorcycles and mopeds, on the other hand, have risen by 13.44% from 5,274 units treated in CATs in February 2024 to 5,983 units treated in February 2025.

Finally, in electric and hybrid cars, the effect of the arrival of cars affected by the DANA to CATs also continues to be felt, since, in February 2025, a total of 151 pure electric M1 and N1 vehicles have been treated, which is 118.84% more than in the same month of 2024. Likewise, 1,302 hybrid M1 and N1 vehicles have been treated in the CATs, representing an increase of 823.40% compared to the same month in 2024. Of the 151 pure electric cars, 91 came from the province of Valencia while, of the 1,302 hybrid cars, 990 units came from the province of Valencia.
