Valentina Varini is the new President of the Automobile Dismantling Association

Valentina Varini has been elected President of the Automobile Dismantling Association, succeeding Anselmo Calò after ADA’s two-day event in Bologna. The former Vice President will lead the association for two years, prioritising circular economy progress, closer supply chain collaboration, and stronger recognition for ELV dismantlers and recyclers.

At the end of the usual two-day event, with the ADA Event and the Assembly, the Association chose Anselmo Calò’s successor.

Valentina Varini is the new President of ADA, the Association of Vehicle Dismantlers affiliated with Assoambiente. This decision was made by the Members’ Meeting, which concluded the traditional two-day event promoted this year in Bologna, featuring the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum.

Varini, formerly Vice President of the Association during the previous council term, is responsible for the administrative and environmental management of the company F.lli Varini di Varini Antonio e C. Snc and will lead the Association for the next two years, supported by Vice Presidents Luca Pomili and Lorella Volpato.

On the sidelines of the Assembly, during which the companies expressed gratitude to outgoing President Anselmo Calò for his commitment and the various milestones achieved by the sector during his tenure, the new President thanked the members for their trust, declaring: ” I take on the presidency of the Association with a great sense of responsibility at a particularly significant time for the future of the entire European automotive supply chain. We are experiencing a historic moment of transformation. The entry into force of the new European regulation on vehicles and their circularity marks a turning point, redefining the roles of all stakeholders in the automotive life cycle. For the first time, the principles of the circular economy are entering the automotive sector in an even more concrete and structured way, attributing strategic value to the recovery, reuse, and recycling of resources.

In this context, the role of demolition companies and recyclers can no longer be considered the last link in the chain, but rather an essential component of an integrated industrial system, called upon to contribute to Europe’s environmental, economic, and social objectives. The challenge ahead requires a shared vision and increasingly close collaboration among the supply chain’s key players, especially manufacturers, repairers, demolition companies, recyclers, and institutions. Only through constant dialogue and fully shared objectives will it be possible to build a truly sustainable, efficient, and competitive model.

During my term, ADA intends to continue leading this journey, promoting dialogue, developing expertise, and recognizing the value that the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) sector brings to the circular economy and environmental protection. Unity in the automotive supply chain is essential for successfully addressing the challenges of the ecological transition and ensuring our industry’s future development, innovation, and competitiveness. As the automotive industry representatives present at our event also emphasized, it is essential to foster ever-increasing collaboration with manufacturers, based on honest dialogue and effective partnerships.

The new members of the Board of Directors were also elected: Massimiliano Artoni, Cristiano Benedetti, Luca Cesarano, Vincenzo Cocozza, Rossana Comiti, Alessandro Corvaglia, Alberto Giorgi, Fabrizio Giustizieri, Carolina Gualtieri, Ilaria Palmisano, Giuseppe Otranto, and Carmine Tafuri.
